I'm so glad this is happening the night before I leave for my vacation. SO GLAD.

Unavailable Funds Fee
So yeah. I have a positive balance. I'm even getting paid AS WE SPEAK, and yet I'm being charged $70 for NOT overdrafting my account. I had to beg my friends to help me out to try and keep this exact thing from happening, but since my imaginary balance of money was somehow at some point less then my actual balance of money, this is my punishment.
The duplicate withdrawal and deposit you see have since corrected themselves, but it still reads me as being overdrawn $31.21
So what did I just pay $70 for? Anybody?
I'm going to try to take everyone through this step by step. This morning, my bank balance was
$478.79 Available balance: $398.79
I made two payments. Two payments I knew would not clear until after midnight tonight when I got paid
one for 70.73 to Brighthouse
one for 80.55 to Verizon
after that, balance is still
$478.79 Available: $243.51
At some point today, the rent check finally cleared. She deposited it on the 16th, that's fair. I'm still at a loss as to how that equates to TWO unavailable funds fees.
Here's how things have settled since I started typing this entry:

So at no point today did my available balance dip below zero, at least not that was visable to me. I check my bank account religiously.
Update:
Calling.
Lady seemed very nice, spent a lot of time and energy trying to explain to me how it happened. I countered with everything I had, but it was no use. I tried to be genial but not give up but she really had an answer for everything. I finally just asked if there was anything she could do to help me out as I really didn't see it coming. She refunded half the charge. So I got $35 back. She tried to sell me on their way2save BS, which I politely declined and let her go.
Its now 4:30 AM. I was supposed to be asleep hours ago. I still think Available Balance Fees are absolute horseshit. I'm glad I got my $35 but it just feels like getting screwed just a liiitle bit less. That $35 could have gone in the gas tank. Ya know, for my trip.
The most ironic thing? I paid those bills in the morning so I could get to sleep early tonight. HAH.
